Welcome to Brea
Hip and bustling Orange County community with a small-town atmosphere
Nestled against the Firestone Scout Reservation in Orange County lies one of California’s most desirable communities with small-town values and a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. Brea has been attracting young professionals, families, and retirees alike with its hip lifestyle, friendly community, and booming local economy.
Brea’s history is filled with crude oil. In fact, it’s reported that Native Americans living in the area would cover themselves in the oil as a form of medicine, and in the late 1890s, the oil industry began to boom in Brea. The community prospered and became the eighth official city in Orange County in 1917. Eventually, oil production declined, and the local economy turned to agriculture, notably citrus groves, to promote the community.
Nowadays, Brea offers beautiful, picturesque scenery, a thriving town, and is widely considered one of the best places to live in Southern California.
